1916

This home was built in 1916 for Edward and Ruth Larsson. The builder is not known.  Edward was a son of Larry and Mary Ellen Geary Larsson.  When the federal government took over property on the south side of West Harrisville Road in 1941 for a military installation, the house was moved directly across the street onto property owned by Larry and Mary Ellen Geary Larsson.  Because the house was moved straight across to the property, the kitchen, which was in the front of the house on the south side of the street, was now in the back of the house.  When the government took over the land on the south side of the street, Edward and Ruth moved to a farm in Oregon. Lemuel and Mary Annie Larsson Webster lived in the house, where Mary Annie took care of her mother Mary Ellen Geary.  Mary Annie’s daughter, Ellen Webster Bailey and her husband Don Bailey lived in the home, and later Jack Whetton also lived in the house.  Ellen lived in the home until her death in 2001.  Sheryl Bailey Butler, a daughter of the Bailey’s and great granddaughter of Larry and Mary Ellen Geary Larsson, became the owner of the home.
