In 1875, Levi J. Taylor Sr. built this two-room adobe home (later stuccoed) for his second wife, Josephine Bingham Taylor. He later added two more rooms constructed of lumber onto the back of the house.
Harvey B. and Mildred R. Romrell Hardy, granddaughter of Levi J. Sr. and Josephine Bingham, acquired the home and raised their children here, including Keith and Maxine Hardy.
From Harvey’s history: “When our son Keith was a few months old, (born in 1933), we moved into a home across the road from my wife’s father Hyrum Romrell, so we could help him, because of the death of his wife some few years previous. It was the same house in which Mildred’s mother was born. We later purchased the place and have made it our permanent home: 1138 North Harrisville Road, Harrisville, Utah.” (Harvey Bradford Hardy (1905–1986) • Person • Family Tree).
The home is still owned by Taylor descendants.
