This complex started as a motel in 1947, by the Purcell Family who owned this property and the home at 540 North Harrisville Road. The motel was unsuccessful, and after not being used for years, it fell into disrepair. Purcells sold the property and home to Roger and Chris Lucas in 1986. The home has since been removed to accommodate an entrance from North Harrisville Road into the Walmart Super Store.
1986
Roger and Chris Lucas improved the motel units and converted them into rentals for persons 50 years and over. Additional units were added in 1990, 1996. Current resident renters maintain they share a camaraderie and look after one another. Lucas added the dog care, “Little Dog House,” on the property in 2005.
