Ronald and Diane DeVries built a lovely frame brick masonry veneer rambler style home with full basement in 1979. Early records of the property show three owners: Thorsteds, Craynors and DeVries.
Grant and LaRue Thorsted married in 1950 and lived in a wooden home on this property which was later demolished. (The property may have included the area of the old adobe school.) The Thorsteds had six boys. Grant served with the National Guard during World War II and was employed as a mail carrier. Grant passed away in 1969, and the property was later sold.

For many years, Ron grew a beautiful garden where the old home once stood. In the fall, he shared huge banana squash that he grew with neighbors and friends.
