This frame masonry veneer home was built in 1910. It may have been built by William B. Nottage and his wife, Camille.
Wallace and Lenora Knight sold their home in Ogden and bought the Nottage home including two acres and moved into the home in November 1936. The Nottages had allowed Lenora’s uncle John to build a small home in the back yard of this home; John lived there and took care of the property for the Nottages who were often away. Soon after Knights purchased the property, Lenora’s Uncle John moved his little house to a lot he owned in Roy.
Wallace brought one daughter into the marriage, and he and Lenora had five sons. With so many boys so close together, the house was full of fun and noise. The home was a typical little farm home for that era including a garden and farm animals for family food production and to keep the boys busy. The kitchen was the favorite room in the house because that is where the stove was; in the winter it was the only room that was warm.
After their family was raised, the Knights sold the home and moved to 1290 North Harrisville Road. (Later they sold the 1290 North home to their son, Byron Knight and wife Janice. After living in Ogden for a short time, Wallace and Lenora moved back to Harrisville at 775 North Harrisville Road.)
In 1964, Edward N. and Margaret Beasley were living in this home.
