Leland and Lelia Porter Saunders built this home 1960.  Leland was a contractor, and he and his brother, Lawrence, built their homes next to each other on property that had been in the Saunders family for years.  Leland and Lelia finished raising their ten children here.  Leland was the first mayor of Harrisville.
