1907
The original part of the home on this property was built in 1907 by John J. Hutzley. Hutzley was living in Pennsylvania at the time that Leander Harris (son of Harrisville founder Martin H. Harris) served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Western Pennsylvania. Harris introduced Hutzley to the Church, and he joined in April 1899. Hutzley later came to Harrisville, where he built this home and was a neighbor to Leander (who lived across the railroad tracks on the other side of West Harrisville Road where the soccer fields are now located).
John Hutzley married Sara Jane Garner in 1900, and they lived in Harrisville many years and raised their family. Bill and Dorene Stoney also lived here at one time.
Several additions have since been made to the original home including a second floor.
