1868
This home started as a two-room adobe house built in 1868 by Harvey and Nancy Rawson Taylor on land received from Harvey’s father, Pleasant Green Taylor. Owners later added on to the front of the adobe house.
The home was elevated on a slight knoll. The buggy harnesses, etc. were lost to a fire July 5, 1895. However, the barn was later replaced with a large wooden barn which stood for many years.
Hilliard C. and Zella Murray Christensen lived here at one time. Their son H. Boyd Christensen married Lois Coles, daughter of Henry B. and Agnes Coles, who lived at 603 West Harrisville Road. Later, Martin H. Harris (grandson of Martin Henderson Harris, Harrisville’s founder) and his wife Viola Eames Harris lived here for many years.
