No Longer Exists
In 1890, Pleasant Green Taylor, an early pioneer, built a two-story duplex for his third wife, Jane Narcissus Shurtleff Taylor, and fourth wife, Sarah Jane Marler Lake Taylo. Jane lived in the north side of the duplex, and Sarah Jane in the south side. Jane Narcissus Shurtleff was a sister to Pleasant Green’s second wife, Mary Eliza Shurtleff, and Sarah Jane Marler Lake was a widow whose husband, William Bailey Lake, was a brother to Pleasant Green’s first wife, Clarissa (Clara) Lake.
1962
In 1962, Gaylord and Afton Taylor acquired the property and built a rambler one story frame masonry veneer home with full basement on the property in front of the 1890 home. (Pleasant Green was Gaylord’s great grandfather through his wife Jane).
Once they settled into the new home, Gaylord removed the old two-story duplex from the property. The new home later became the home of Michael Pendleton and his family.
