1871
This home started as a two-room adobe with walls eighteen inches thick, built by Levi J. Taylor in 1871, for his wife Flora G. Bingham Taylor. In 1891, he constructed an addiction of frame red brick that Noah Shurtleff made from clay that came from 2nd Street in Ogden. The two-story addition included three rooms on the main floor and three rooms on the second story. Their son, Amos Moroni and wife Jeptha Ashby Taylor lived in the home a number of years until their deaths. Their daughter, Lora Dean Priest, then became the owner, and in 1979, she replaced the original two room adobe shown in this picture with new construction. The home is still owned by Levi’s descendants.
