1898
B. Anderson built this home in 1898. The construction is brick lined with adobes. An addition was added in 1905 and the home was later stuccoed. The early barn (partially constructed with rock and frame wood siding with a metal roof) is connected to the property and is still in use.
In about 1910, Daniel Styles and Annie Buck Maxfield moved from 730 West Harrisville Road into this home. He worked at the brickyard, and she was a midwife. Annie put an “X” on the mailbox stand, which indicated transients riding the rails were welcome here for a meal.
Later their son John Benjamin Maxfield (Ben) and wife Cora acquired the property. They created three lots from the vacant property south of the home.
Cora died, and Ben lived here for a while for selling this home to Douglas L. Eggleston who, with his wife and family, were the next owners to live here.
Later they sold to the current owners.
