Albert L. and Ellen C. Groberg Crowther built this frame home on property acquired from David W. Crowther, Albert’s father.
Albert’s brother William L. and wife Laura Lavern T. Crowther were living next door in a harness shop that had been converted into a small two-room rental home (in front of 949 North Harrisville Road). In February 1918, Albert and Ellen bought a frame masonry home from Morgan Lake at 938 North Harrisville Road (less than a block away to the east) and sold this home to William and Laura. Not only did Will and Albert live close to one another, they shared a bond as brothers. They helped each other work their farms, shared equipment, and cared for their aging father, David, at his adobe home, 992 North Harrisville Road.
After the death of his first wife, Laura, William married Irene Thurgood. When she passed, this home was sold to Kraig and Cheryl Bach. The Bach’s daughter, Cami, eventually married Bowen Crowther, son of Chad and Kristine Crowther.
Bach’s sold the home when they moved to Nevada.
