1929

Nephi Taylor, son of William Heber and Melissie Thomas Taylor, and wife Ada Jensen Taylor built this home in 1929.  A couple of years later, Nephi’s parents moved from 667 West Harrisville Road, and built the home next door at 1249 North Harrisville Road.

When Nephi and Ada passed, Tyler Malmrose purchased the house. Tyler worked as a Procurement Specialist at Autoliv for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed reading, music, and gardening; everyone Tyler knew benefited from the fruits of his labor from his garden, especially his fantastic tomatoes.

The drama of the 1850 Killing of Shoshone Chief Terikee unfolded in the field next to this home; as a result, Tyler chaired the Terikee Monument Project. He also served on the Harrisville Planning Commission and other city steering committees where his intelligence, dedication, common sense and wisdom greatly benefited his neighborhood and community. Tyler passed away in 2022 and the home is now owned by the Hawkins family.
